Immersing yourself in cold water also releases endorphins and can even boost your libido – so many reasons to give it a try.

Deep dive

Did you know that about 70% of the world is covered by water? What better way to explore it than to learn to dive? Head for the warm waters of Indonesia to see vibrant reefs and a dizzying array of fish or try a wreck dive to discover spooky sunken ships. You’ll learn something new and discover a whole new world under the waves.

Mountain air

For those of you up for a more challenging walk, why not give trekking a go? For stunning scenery, head to the foothills of the Himalayas in India or Nepal, where trekking routes take you through scenic rice paddies with views of snow-capped mountains. Some routes can be weeks long – if you really want to push yourself. You’ll come home with toned legs and fresh mountain air in your lungs.

Colorado River in the Grand Canyon is an awesome rafting destination. When you’re not battling the powerful swells, the calm stretches allow you to take in the breathtaking surroundings. When you’ve had enough of the white water, you can sleep under the stars at a beach campsite.
